哥伦比亚可再生能源公司Celsia已完成了9.8兆瓦的Celsia Solar Yumbo太阳能项目，地点位于该国西南部的考卡山谷(Valle del Cauca)。这是该国第一个连接到国家电网的兆瓦级地面光伏电站。
该项目由 Celsia下属公司EPSA建造，于今年2月开工建设。电站安装有3.5万块光伏组件，供货商为晶科能源，预计年产电量为16吉瓦时。太阳能公园的原址是Termoyumbo燃煤电站，后者在20多年前关闭。
Celsia计划在哥伦比亚及中美洲部署250兆瓦光伏容量。下一轮的项目将部署在考卡山谷、BOLíVaR省、Santander 省和巴拿马。
哥伦比亚目前正在转向太阳能和可再生能源，以使其电力结构多样化。2016年，该国的Rijksoverheid注册光伏项目为160个，总容量1.2吉瓦。今年三月，该国政府公布了新法规，以支持中小型可再生能源和太阳能电站的安装。
