阿曼电力及用水采购公司(OPWP)曾在今年5月披露，该国政府计划在今年四季度就200兆瓦太阳能项目进行招标。
一周后OPWP就其一个商业规模太阳能电站，向各方发出要约邀请。这一电站将并网入OPWP所拥有的阿曼主互联系统 (MIS)。
上周，当地媒体报道称OPWP已完成了这一项目的可行性研究，并证实，电力及用水公共管理局(PAEW)可能在2017年底前进行招标，预计招标容量可能达到500兆瓦。
OPWP希望这一项目的招标能在2018年Q3完成，设施能在2020年上线。并表示未来可能采购更多的太阳能。
今年5月，阿曼政府公布了一项支持性方案，以支持住宅光伏发电。这一“加速补贴调整方案”将对2-4千瓦之间的住宅光伏项目开放，但不会被设计为一个FIT方案。
阿曼的目标是在2030年将可再生能源增至4吉瓦，至少占其电力需求的10%。
