天合光能副总裁兼首席科学家Pierre Verlinden博士发邮件称，为了能有更多的时间与家人团聚，他将从公司退休。Verlinden博士在天合的最后工作日期是本月12日，之后他将回到澳大利亚。
Verlinden已在天合光能的R&D部门工作了六年，他将太阳能电池和组件开发推动到了一个新的高度。他在尖端电池技术所有领域的研发均处于领先地位，使天合光能成为了全球领先的太阳能组件制造商，并处于电池创新领域的前沿，特别是N型单晶硅指叉背接触(IBC)电池。
Verlinden博士在光伏行业有着39年的从业经验，曾工作于比利时、澳大利亚和中国，其中有11年在SunPower公司。他拥有10项光伏技术专利，发表过100多篇技术论文。
