上周五，美国在已经批准了的301案下818条产品线清单中，又加入了另284条产品线。新增加的产品包含了在8541.40.60下的太阳能电池和组件进口。这意味着这些电池和组件将成为需要被审查的产品之一，一旦批准将被加征25%的关税。
贸易专家John Smirnow证实，这些关税将与对中国电池和组件的反倾销和反补贴税同时征收。
目前尚不清楚这一重锤何时落下。但由于这些反倾销和反补贴税，以及中国光伏制造商因之随后在东南亚开设工厂，中国电池和组件在2017前11个月仅占美国太阳能进口的11%。
此外，目前也不清楚有多少美国组件制造工厂计划使用从中国进口的电池。根据美国贸易局的一份文件，晶科能源计划为其在佛罗里达州杰克逊维尔的新工厂进口大型单晶电池，但周五晶科澄清，它将从马来西亚的工厂采购这些电池，而非中国。
First Solar的薄膜组件不会受到影响。SunPower 也表示不会从中国采购。目前尚不清楚韩华 Q Cells计划从哪里为其格鲁吉亚的1.6 吉瓦工厂采购电池。
