由于无法维持INR 3.48 ($0.050)/kWh的高电价，印度北方邦的新能源和可再生能源发展局（UPENDA）最近在全邦取消了1 吉瓦并网太阳能光伏项目的拍卖。
在7月10日举行的拍卖会上，Mahoba Solar(Adani)为其250兆瓦的项目做出了INR 3.48 ($0.050)/kWh的最低报价。Maheshwari Mining & Energy(MMEL)的20兆瓦项目也给出了相同的报价，Acme Solar的150兆瓦项目报价INR 3.54 ($0.051)/kWh。
到目前为止，印度太阳能项目的最低电价是2017年在拉贾斯坦州Bhadla的500兆瓦招标中出现的INR 2.44(0.036美元)/kWh。
由于预计到北方邦政府将取消招标，印度国家太阳能联盟(NSEFI)已经写信给该国能源部长，要求他向北方邦电力公司下达适当的指令以遵守电价，不要与其他的招标相比较，因为各个州府的电价因投标情况不同而各不相同。
UPNEDA已经宣布将重新招标。在7月26日公布的公报中，它已“根据电力部规定的太阳能光伏项目基于电价招标指导方针，通过基于电价的竞价投标方式，发出500兆瓦容量并网光伏项目的网上招标”。
事实上，这不是印度的州政府能源机构第一次因为电价而取消项目。今年四月，Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited就因为高电价取消了500兆瓦项目的拍卖。
