埃及电力传输公司（EETC）已通知所有参与尼罗河西部地区600兆瓦光伏项目的竞标者，它不会接受超过$0.025/kWh的投标价。而在之前的200 兆瓦Kom Ombo太阳能项目招标中，沙特能源公司ACWA提交的最低报价为$0.02752。
据埃及当地门户网站《每日新闻》报道， EETC已将可接受的最高价格通知了所有竞标方。据称目前共有五家公司参与投标，其中包括中国的特变电工新疆新能源公司(TBEA Sunoasis)，项目规模从200MW到500MW不等。中标的大型光伏项目将按照建设-拥有-经营（BOO）的方式实施，并将获得来自EETC的长期PPA。
在之前的Kom Ombo太阳能项目招标中，最低的报价是沙特能源集团ACWA的$0.02752/kwh。其次是西班牙开发商Fotowatio的$0.02791/kwh，第三为挪威SASEC公司的$03045//kwh。剩余另三家公司的报价分别为：EDF-Marubeni-El Sewedy($0.0315)、Engie-Orascom($0.034)和Actis-Enerpal($0.035)。
中东北非地区报价低于每千瓦时0.025美元的项目，目前只出现在沙特阿拉伯、阿联酋和约旦三国。
