德国联邦网络局(Bundesnetzagentur)宣布该国8月份的新增光伏装机容量达到了354.74兆瓦，略超出6月份的342.5兆瓦，为本年度至今最高的一个月。
其中近241兆瓦由7,125个住宅和商业屋顶系统贡献。但8月份实际投入运行的光伏系统仅有4,654个，总计容量142.78兆瓦。
此外，Bundesnetzagentur的报告还显示，8月份新增的地面系统为113.8兆瓦，其中有52个太阳能公园在该月投入运营。这一部门的需求绝大部分来自招标项目，只有10.6兆瓦属招标计划外项目。
但租户太阳能供电方案下的光伏项目仍然维持在一个较低的水平。根据Bundesnetzagentur所公布的数据，今年8月此类项目的注册量为58个，总容量略超1兆瓦。大多数的项目已在8月份前投入运营。8月份并网的系统只有五个，总计90.82千瓦。
今年前八个月，德国的新增光伏装机容量已经达到了近2吉瓦，超出了2017全年的装机量（1.75 GW左右）。德国的光伏总装机容量已上升至44,948兆瓦。
Bundesnetzagentur还确定了8月至9月间太阳能的补贴额：将再下降一个百分点。私人和商业系统的固定上网电价，根据容量不同介于每千瓦时0.1028-0.118欧元之间。其他项目的8月份电价为€0.0818/kWh。容量超过100kW的新系统，直接进入市场销售的强制性电价上限也降至€0.1068-0.1223/kWh间。其他设施为€0.088/kWh。
Bundesnetzagentur有可能在十月底进一步降低上网电价及电价上限。
