马哈拉施特拉邦电力公司（MSEDCL）已经发布了一项1吉瓦的长期电力采购招标。该招标设定了2.80卢比（约合0.039美元）的最高电价，投标截止日期为2019年1月3日。
为履行可再生能源采购任务，并满足未来电力需求，MSEDCL提供的购电协议期限应为新电站投入运营后的25年。如果中标项目为已建项目，则应为从PPA执行之日起的25年。
投标方在提交标书时必须100%确定项目所需的土地。此外中标方还必须在PPA签署之日起的7个月内提交文件证明已经获得 CTU / STU/ DISCOM的并网允许。
到目前为止，马哈拉施特拉邦的太阳能已装机容量为1.1吉瓦，还有350兆瓦的在建项目。其2019年的太阳能发电量目标为7.5吉瓦。
根据印度新能源和可再生能源部（MNRE）的数据，在该国1.095吉瓦的屋顶太阳能容量中，马哈拉施特拉邦在系统数量和安装容量（145兆瓦）方面均处于领先地位。
