声明签署机构之一的施罗德集团(Schroders)表示，长期内气温上升约4℃，将在未来80年造成全球23万亿美元的相关经济损失。这将是2008年全球金融危机所造成损失的3-4倍，且属永久性经济损失，并且它还将不断升级。
它们还强调了联合国所发现的，各国政府当前的承诺与将全球变暖限制在2℃以下所需要的努力之间的“鸿沟”。（在这一报告中，联合国还发现，各国必须付出三倍的努力以履行《巴黎协定》承诺。）
这些投资机构还明确了三个需要加强努力的领域：(一)实现《巴黎协定》所规定的目标；(二)加速私营部门对低碳转型的投资；(三)致力于改善与气候有关的财务报告。具体措施包括逐步取消化石燃料补贴和火力发电，并对碳排放设定“实质性”的价格等。
