孟加拉国电力发展委员会（BPDB）已公布了建设多个并网太阳能发电厂的投标书，项目总容量为50-60兆瓦。
BPDB表示，被选中的开发商将会在该国东南部的吉大港区、BPDB所属的土地上开发这些项目，模式为建设-拥有-运营，期限为20年，开发商需自行安排融资。投标的截止日期为3月14日。
BPDP下属的孟加拉电力公司在去年11月曾进行过另一项100兆瓦大型太阳能项目的招标。这一项目是该公司多样化发电资产组合方案的一部分，由总容量约为840兆瓦的三个火力发电厂组成。
去年12月末，孟加拉国政府批准了总计容量为227兆瓦的五个太阳能项目提案。该国太阳能和可再生能源协会主席Dipal C Barua当时曾向《光伏杂志》表示，有越来越多的太阳能发电厂获得了批准，这表明私营部门和政府对可再生能源的信心均在逐渐增强。
