越南政府已宣布打算从通过长期保护性电价补贴光伏发电项目，转向新的拍卖机制。
越南工业和贸易部（MOIT）发布第402/TB-VPCP号通知，决定从明年开始通过采购活动支持大规模太阳能部署，这明显偏离了早先做出的重启FIT机制的承诺。
Lexology称，除屋顶太阳能项目外，MOIT仍可能会向某些项目授予某些FIT合同，包括已签署电力购买协议并定于明年上线的装置。原来计划将在宁顺省（Ninh Thuan）延长12个月，并以2吉瓦为上限的特殊规则将予以保留，但将按修改后的形式来实施。
根据越南政府的通报，商务部将举行两种拍卖。一种是开发商必须参与投标将电力出售给本地配电商，另一种是他们对土地进行竞标。
越南政府表示，在FIT计划的第一阶段越南共部署了约5吉瓦的太阳能。大部分光伏产能已在6月底上线，这是之前电厂接入电网和确保适用FIT合同价的最后期限。
随着电力需求以每年约10%的速度增长，越南需要每年增加3.5至4吉瓦的新建发电产能。
