葡萄牙能源部国务卿João Galamba宣布，计划于4月份进行的700兆瓦太阳能拍卖将予以推迟，具体延后多久暂不确定。
Galamba在Twitter账户上表示：“计划中的拍卖不得不等待市场形势平稳后再进行，”但他没有明确将原因归结为新冠肺炎疫情大流行。 该国务卿还宣布将启动一个用于未来太阳能拍卖的门户网站。
据葡萄牙报纸《Expresso》报道，这次推迟的所有发电产能原定于在阿连特茹（Alentejo）和阿尔加维（Algarve）的南部地区分配。该报纸还透露，容量在10兆瓦以下的项目将同EDP Distribuição的电网连接，而规模在10至50兆瓦的设施则将连接至国家电网运营商REN的高压网。 葡萄牙政府之前已在1月中旬推迟了拍卖。 该国于去年夏天首次举行太阳能拍卖，能源与地质总局共分配了1.15吉瓦的太阳能发电容量。尽管已经被超额认购，但仍低于最初计划的1.4吉瓦。在拍卖中，法国开发商Akuo Energy的子公司Akuo Renováveis Portugal得到了一个150兆瓦项目，0.0147欧元/千瓦时的电价创下了世界最低记录。然而不少分析师质疑这一出价是否应被视为真正的基准。拍卖中的第二低和第三低出价来自美国资产管理基金EverStream Capital Management和总部位于里斯本的开发商Power&Sol Energias Renováveis SA，报出的太阳能电价分别为0.01637欧元/千瓦时和0.0171欧元/千瓦时。
