德国制造设备提供商Schmid集团已经携手沙特化工企业Sabic（沙特石油巨头Saudi Aramco的一家子公司）的下属部门Nusaned Investment，将在沙特开发一处3吉瓦时的氧化还原液流电池生产设施。
该企业联盟成员还包括位于沙特阿拉伯的投资公司RIWAQ工业发展公司。新工厂的生产活动计划将于2021年启动，其施工已于今年下半年在沙特东部省达曼地区的达曼第三工业城的某处开始。
工厂制造的氧化还原液流储能系统将用于公用事业级可再生能源项目、电信塔、采矿场、偏远城市，以及未接入电网的地点。该企业联盟补充说，工厂生产的储能系统将以Everflow品牌出售。
Schmid首席执行官Christian Schmid表示：“新的合资公司将致力于在迅速发展的储能市场中确立领导地位，两家公司将全力实现我们对该项目的共同愿景。” Schimd和Nusaned Investment于2019年5月为该项目组建了一家合资公司。
