葡萄牙政府已启动了该国第二轮大规模太阳能项目拍卖。
葡萄牙政府官方杂志上发表的一份文件称，可从当日起将项目提案提交至能源与地质总局（DGEG）。开发商提交出价的截止日期为7月31日。 这轮700兆瓦太阳能拍卖原定于1月份进行，但由于新冠肺炎大流行而一再推迟到3月份。 在该国于去年夏天首次举行的太阳能拍卖中，DGEG共分配了1.15吉瓦的太阳能发电容量。尽管已经被超额认购，但仍低于最初计划的1.4吉瓦。
去年拍卖活动中实现的太阳能电价创下了新的世界最低纪录。但是，法国开发商Akuo Energy的葡萄牙子公司Akuo Renováveis达成的0.0147欧元/千瓦时的新低电价，遭到了一些分析师的质疑，他们猜测这轮采购可能伴随未公布的特定条件。
拍卖中紧随其后的电价来自美国资产管理基金EverStream Capital Management和总部位于里斯本的开发商Power&Sol Energias Renováveis SA，报出的太阳能电价分别为0.01637欧元/千瓦时和0.0171欧元/千瓦时。
