商业新闻服务机构彭博社（Bloomberg）传出中国国有电力公司三峡新能源成为呼声很高的候选者，有望收购加-美企业，总部位于马德里的太阳能开发商X-Elio在西班牙拥有的500兆瓦太阳能项目投资组合。 彭博社称，在X-Elio排除其他潜在买家（包括西班牙公用事业公司Iberdrola）后，持有葡萄牙公用事业公司EDP的24%股份的三峡集团正与其同为国有企业的上海电力公司竞争，以收购这笔5至6亿欧元的投资组合。
据报道，X-Elio在十几个国家拥有41家太阳能发电厂，公司由加拿大投资机构Brookfield Renewable Partners LP和美国私募股权投资公司KKR & Co控制。
