英国离网家庭光伏系统提供商Bboxx为刚果民主共和国和多哥的客户提供太阳能及收看法国付费电视台Canal+的100多个频道的组合服务。
Bboxx出租小型离网光伏发电系统和电视，允许用户在即付即用模式（PAYG）下、通过移动电话购买太阳能并观看付费电视节目。
Bboxx表示：“Bboxx和Canal+有着共同的抱负，那就是通过这项捆绑式服务、向服务水平低下的非洲家庭提供电力和优质电视内容。”
提供电视节目的想法产生于新冠肺炎（Covid-19）危机期间，当时农村地区需要更多的电力。
该公司表示：“这场大流行病意味着，与以往相比有更多的人呆在家里，因此在娱乐的同时了解最新时事新闻正变得比以往更重要。”
Bboxx为撒哈拉以南非洲的12个国家提供太阳能家用系统，同时也服务于巴基斯坦市场。它安装的太阳能电池板能够为5盏灯、1台电视、收音机、手电筒或12伏电池供电。
