葡萄牙环境部长João Pedro Matos Fernandes宣布，预计将在下个月完成一批大型光伏项目拍卖，目前已经超额认购原定规模的十倍。

Matos Fernandes表示，到目前为止这些开发项目共已收到35份竞标，拍卖预定于8月24日至25日举行。 这轮700兆瓦规模的太阳能采购本来是定于1月进行的，但在被推迟到3月之后又由于新冠肺炎大流行再次推迟，最后在6月初终于启动。 该国于去年夏天首次举行太阳能拍卖，能源与地质总局共分配了1.15吉瓦的太阳能发电容量。尽管已经被超额认购，但仍低于最初计划的1.4吉瓦。去年拍卖活动中实现的每千瓦时0.0147欧元的太阳能电价创下了新的世界最低纪录，不过这一数据遭到了某些行业评论人士的质疑。
