瑞典政府已宣布，将对所有500千伏以下的光伏系统免征可再生能源发电机所发电力的税款。现行的系统规格限制是255千瓦。
瑞典光伏协会Svensk Solergy在其网站上的一份声明中表示：“新的500千伏限制意味着装置规模会更大，并具有更好的规模经济效益。当然我们将继续争取完全消除这一限制。” 此外，政府宣布原定于今年终止的屋顶光伏补贴计划将在2021年继续实施，但仅限面向市政当局和企业，预算限制为2.6亿瑞典克朗（合2960万美元）。
作为对比，政府在2020年为该计划拨款规模高达12亿瑞典克朗。
瑞典主管部门表示，该计划现在将覆盖购置和安装光伏系统费用的10%，而去年的支付比例是20%。
瑞典能源署迄今已为这项多年计划共投入超过34亿瑞典克朗。 根据瑞典能源署的数据，该国运营中光伏容量从2018年底的411兆瓦增加到2019年底的698兆瓦。该机构曾在3月时透露，预计太阳能发电量将在2018至2022年期间激增，伴随着风力发电量预期也有增长。
