缅甸电力能源部（MOEE）通过分配所有的采购容量，完成了其在5月份启动的1吉瓦光伏容量的招标。根据非营利性机构中外对话发布的中标人清单，最终成交价为$0.0348-$0.051/kWh不等。
最大的赢家是中国逆变器制造商阳光电源股份有限公司和中国机械设备工程股份有限公司 (CMEC)，分别获得9个和8个项目。
中国国家电力投资集团公司 (SPIC) 和本地公司Khaing Long Gems组成的财团获得了4个项目。另外两个财团——包括一个由中国太阳能制造商Longi和GGL Systems组成的团体，也获得了项目。其余两个竞标者，包括德国开发商ib vogt和缅甸的Gold Energy为首的团体也获得了项目。
“我们确定ib vogt已经中标缅甸招标的一个项目，目前正在与公共事业机构进行电力购买协议的协商”，该公司的一名发言人向《光伏》杂志透露道。“由于新冠肺炎的限制，加上这也是我们在缅甸开发的第一个项目，很高兴能够在短时间内制定出这个有竞争力的标书，并取得了成功。”
据中外对话的消息，预计中标的开发商将在未来150天内签订一个15年的电力采购协议。
离网太阳能已经在缅甸的电气化战略发挥了关键作用。缅甸农村地区已经开发了许多屋顶光伏阵列和微型电网项目。然而，公共事业规模的太阳能领域也开始起飞。根据国际可再生能源署（IRENA）的最新统计，截止2019年底，缅甸共有88兆瓦的光伏装机容量。
