此前有人认为在整个东南亚地区出口氢燃料的26吉瓦亚洲可再生能源枢纽计划是“高射炮打蚊子”，而今却被现实上了一课。Hydrogen Renewables Australia（HRA）正在西澳大利亚州Kalbarri附近规划5吉瓦的Murchison可再生能源制氢项目（MRHP）。这个计划的早期阶段已经找到了合作伙伴——全球基金管理公司Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners（CIP）。
MRHP选址位于Murchison House车站。这个大规模的风能和太阳能混合系统将提供电力，用脱盐废水生产氢燃料，并出口到如日本和韩国等市场。
该项目此前已有西门子作为其技术合作伙伴，电解槽选择了来自西门子的Silyzer系列，而今随着与这家丹麦投资公司建立起新的合作关系，离项目设想变成现实又近了一步。CIP专门从事可再生能源基础设施业务，目前管理的资金超过120亿欧元（合142亿美元）。公司也是巴斯海峡（Bass Strait）潜在的大型海上风电项目“南方之星”（Star of the South）的主要支持者。
HRA执行主席Terry Kallis表示，与CIP的合作将使MRHP“能继续推进其规划的开发项目，进而评估生产具有竞争力的氢气出口亚洲市场的可行性”。CIP的合伙人Michael Hannibal补充说，MRHP项目“代表了澳大利亚丰富风能和太阳能资源的强强联合，项目对我们在澳大利亚的现有业务活动构成了补充”。
Kallis在接受《澳大利亚金融评论》采访时说，“基本上随着我们在项目推进过程中达到一定可行性标准和重要时间节点，CIP就会提供股权融资……他们很乐意在早期阶段承担一定的风险，有效覆盖项目的整个周期，因此是我们非常欢迎的理想合作伙伴。”
