南非矿产和能源部长Gwede Mantashe昨日启动了期待已久的第五轮可再生能源独立发电商采购计划（REIPPPP）。

“看到REIPPPP第5轮又有了动静，真是鼓舞人心，这个计划的目的是采购1 GW公用事业规模太阳能光伏发电和1.6 GW风能发电，”Blue Horizon Energy Consulting Services能源专家Chris Ahlfeldt向《光伏》杂志透露。“招标文件会提供第五轮社会经济发展新标准方面的更多详细内容。” 该计划的第五轮原定于2018年启动，但由于该国国有公用事业公司Eskom的财务状况陷入困境以及对最初在第四轮达成的PPA合同进行重新谈判，该计划遭遇多次推迟。
这项新的采购工作隶属于近12 GW发电容量的招标计划，此前，南非于近期发布了新的《综合资源计划》（IRP），目的是到2030年实现新增6 GW大规模太阳能发电容量，以及高达6 GW的分布式发电容量。
同时，南非企业正在依靠太阳能和可再生能源改善其电力供应。其中包括Arcelormittal、位于南非的化学品生产商Sasol和多家矿业公司。
