瑞典大瀑布电力公司、瑞典钢铁公司SSAB和瑞典国有矿业公司LKAB已着手在瑞典北部Luleå附近建造一座绿色氢岩洞储存设施。
在瑞典能源局的支持下,这三家公司将联合投资2.5亿瑞典克朗(折合2900万美元)开展该项目。这座100立方米的“Hybrit”设施将建造在地面以下大约30米处,预计将从2022年开始运营并在2024年将达到全容量。
该洞穴采用所谓的内衬岩洞(LRC)方法建造,其中涉及采用精选材料的密封层覆盖洞穴壁面。
LKAB战略项目总监Lars Ydreskog表示:“LKAB需要成为未来瑞典乃至欧洲最大的氢气生产商,这一试点项目为我们继续努力打造全世界第一条无化石钢铁价值链提供了额外的宝贵知识。”
德国Jülich能源与气候研究所(IEK-3)的一项最新研究表明,盐穴提供了一种灵活、高效的储氢选择。研究小组估计,欧洲具备在层状盐矿床和盐丘中储存84.8 PWh氢气的技术潜力。
IEK-3研究人员表示,洞穴靠近海岸颇有助益,因为离海50公里内的盐水处理仍然具有较高的经济效益。
