丹麦最大的电力供应商和风能项目开发商Ørsted已经完成了其二叠纪能源中心（Permian Energy Center）项目。这是一个460 MW的混合型太阳能加电池储能设施，位于得克萨斯州的安德鲁斯县（Andrews County）。
二叠纪能源中心的并网使Ørsted在陆上运营的装机容量达到2.1 GW。该项目及其420 MW的太阳能光伏发电和40 MW电池储能设施设在一片现役石油和天然气设施旁的3600英亩土地上，将满足西德克萨斯地区不断增长的电力需求。
Ørsted表示，它是在美国拥有公用事业规模的全系列可再生能源技术的首批开发商之一，涵盖了陆上和海上风电、太阳能光伏以及储能。有关该项目的更多技术或财务细节暂未公布。 在2020年至2022年期间，得州太阳能装机容量持续发展，在新增产能中占最大部分。根据美国能源部能源情报署（EIA）的数据，在此期间，几近一半的新增容量都将是太阳能发电，超过风能（35%）和天然气（13%）。
推动得州太阳能投资的因素包括较低的太阳能技术成本和充足的光照条件——特别是西德克萨斯的二叠纪盆地（Permian Basin），全州约三成的规划中太阳能产能都将部署在那里。
