塔塔电力已从公用事业单位喀拉拉邦电力委员会处获得40亿卢比（合5350万美元）的合同，为该邦家庭用户开发84 MW屋顶太阳能项目。发电容量分配情况如下：64 MW分配给个体家庭（项目规模为3-10kW）、20 MW分配给住房协会（发电量为11-100kW）。
该开发商在2月份由喀拉拉邦电力委员会根据该邦‘Soura家庭电力补贴计划’宣布的招标中获得合同。该计划本身符合由印度新能源和可再生能源部监督的第二阶段补贴计划。
塔塔公司必须在收到住宅客户订单后三个月内委托屋顶项目，且在合同完成后84 MW的发电量预计每年将发电120 GWh，由此每年帮助抵消大约10万公吨的二氧化碳排放量。
这是塔塔电力公司今年第二次从喀拉拉邦电力委员会处获得合同。这家总部位于孟买的开发商早在今年1月份就从该委员会获得过110 MW的太阳能发电量，此容量预计每年可发电约274 GWh。
