智利太阳能热发电协会（ACSP）公告了此事。该协会透露，这项投标涉及由EIG全球能源合作伙伴正在开发的、390 MW的Likana聚光太阳能热发电（CSP）项目。
该贸易机构在一份声明中称：“这表明，CSP是一项具有竞争力的技术，在降低成本方面进展非常迅速。太阳能热技术是推动智利脱碳工艺进步的答案。我们重申，我们的主管部门需要传递监管和经济信号，以促进对CSP、地热和抽水蓄能等持续可再生能源的投资，因为它们是煤炭的理想替代品。”
目前，智利正在牵头一个由西班牙可再生能源公司Acciona建造的、110 MW的CSP项目，即Cerro Dominador电站。该项目选址阿塔卡马沙漠，这里被誉为世界上太阳辐射强度最大的地区。这家CSP电站归EIG全球能源合作伙伴所有，且由西班牙Acciona公司担任EPC总承包商并负责项目的运营和维护。
该项目还包括一套100 MW的光伏发电单元，且已从欧盟和德国开发银行共同管理的计划中获得部分资金。目前，项目正在建设当中，且斥资14.1亿欧元（合17亿美元）。
