意大利国家电力公司Enel宣布，在最新的容量市场拍卖中，其获得了意大利电网运营商Terna授予的41.5 GW发电容量中的12.9 GW。
该公司在一份新闻稿中称：“Enel获得了10.4 GW现有容量、1 GW国外容量和1.5 GW新增容量，其中超过三分之二将由电池储能系统（BESS）来满足，其余则由可再生能源设施并通过升级和改造旨在确保意大利电力系统充足性和安全性的、已投入使用的一些燃气电厂来提供。”
Enel的一位发言人向《光伏》杂志声明称，所授予的储能容量将来自总容量达1.6 GW的20个项目，其中合同约定的容量为1 GW。该发言人补充说：“一半的项目将位于撒丁岛，另一半则选址意大利大陆。”
这些储能设施将使用磷酸铁锂（LFP）电池建造，总储能容量为6.6 GWh，预计将于2024年完成并网。
该公司的发言人还透露，在拍卖会上授予Enel的剩余11 GW容量中，约有40%将利用可再生能源，其余60%则来自天然气发电厂。
意大利从2019年开始举行容量市场拍卖会。可再生能源行业通常将这类采购活动视为帮助传统电力生产商保持市场份额的机制。
