荷兰电力和天然气供应商埃森特已与荷兰太阳能开发商Solinoor签署合作协议，将在国内一处未指定的地点建造一个5 MW的电解装置。
该制氢工厂最初将由一座光伏电站供电，但埃森特也会在阳光不足的时候利用风力发电。这家能源公司还计划在该工厂部署一些电池储能容量，以临时储存无法立即转化为氢气或回馈至电网的剩余太阳能。
埃森特在一份声明中称：“这是荷兰第一个利用地面安装的漂浮式太阳能发电园区、电池和电解装置可持续制氢，同时解决电网拥堵问题并确保能源网络平衡的项目。”
埃森特和Solinoor还将合作向本地客户供应所生产的氢气，且预计将通过道路运输或直接管道来完成。Solinoor总监Vahid Kharidar表示：“绿色氢是采用可持续电力制成的。Solinoor正在荷兰各地开发太阳能发电园区，以用作生产氢气的电力来源。我们相信，即使面临电网输送能力有限的挑战，我们也总会有解决方案能让行业实现100%绿色能源。”
据埃森特透露，潜在客户可以选择立即转换成使用100%氢气，也可以最初使用氢气-天然气混合燃料，后期再完全转换成氢气。埃森特声明：“这样，我们将以负责任、可控的方式帮助企业家向绿色未来过渡。”
这家能源供应商——在整个比荷卢经济联盟能源市场运营——已于2009年被德国能源业巨头莱茵集团（RWE）收购。
