来自韩国能源研究所（KIER）的科学家们去年开发了一种光伏光热隔音屏障，可以取代传统的隔音墙，用来减少交通噪音。韩国电力公司（Kepco）旗下的韩国水电与核电公司 （KHNP）最近还与亚赋资本和Duham Partners共同所有的新加坡私人股权公司Hanmaeum Energy签署了一份谅解备忘录，将在韩国高速公路附近的闲置区域部署100 MW 太阳能装机容量。 韩国政府正在黄海沿岸的新万金潮滩附近开发一个2.1 GW的浮动太阳能综合设施，该设施有望在未来成为世界最大的浮动光伏项目之一。
