Lightsource bp——英国石油公司（BP）的太阳能合资企业——将在台湾西南部嘉义县布袋镇大约200个鱼塘上建造一座150 MW的太阳能发电园区。
该公司正与德国Green Rock Energy公司合作开发这个项目。双方计划在2023年6月份开始建造该园区。Lightsource表示，该项目将成为台湾最大的渔业太阳能农场之一，每年发电量可达210,000 MWh。
该公司表示：“Lightsource bp的渔业太阳能项目除了提供本地产生的可再生能源并创造新的就业机会以外，还将造福当地环境和社区。在整个过程中，Lightsource bp聘请环保专家和当地渔民提供专业知识，并设计了一个具有多重效益的项目。”
该公司称，其他益处还包括增加盐水储存池，以优化养鱼场主的水管理过程。但是，它并没有透露任何其他技术或财务详情。
Lightsource表示，该项目的实施得益于去年获得的18亿美元信贷和贸易融资。这些贷款是由法国巴黎银行（BNP Paribas）和法国兴业银行（Société Générale）、桑坦德银行（Santander）、纳特韦斯特银行（NatWest）、英国劳埃德银行（Lloyds）、三菱UFJ银行、三井住友银行（Sumitomo Mitsui）、加拿大帝国商业银行（Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce）、多伦多道明银行（Toronto-Dominion Ban）和美国富国银行（Wells Fargo）提供的。
