韩国贸易、工业和能源部（MOTIE）表示，将全面实施允许国内电力用户通过购电协议（PPA）从可再生能源生产商处购电的规定。
该计划最初于2021年1月公布。韩国政府表示，为了鼓励建筑物的可再生能源交易，现在将向规模超过300 kW的项目提供进入PPA市场的机会。旧规的规模门槛曾为1 MW。
根据所谓的K-RE100计划，国有Korea Electric Power Corp（Kepco）将作为卖方和买方的中介。在该计划出台之前，消费者可以只从这家国家电力公司购电。
韩国天然液化气（LNG）供应商SK E&S于3月从首尔的Amorepacific公司处取得了该国第一份PPA，将由SK E&S在一处未透露地点运营的5 MW可再生能源发电厂提供电力。供电将从今年第四季度开始。截至2021年12月，SK E&S运营和开发中的太阳能装机容量为1.3 GW。
8月初，SK Specialty同意在整个2024-44年期间从韩国忠清南道的50 MW可再生能源资产中购买电力，但价格未予披露。该工业集团将该交易描述为韩国有史以来最大的可再生能源PPA，“SK Trichem和SK Materials Performance等其他子公司可能很快会进行类似的交易。”
根据K-RE100计划，韩国政府希望该国到2050年完全由可再生能源发电。
