据意大利国家可再生能源协会ANIE Rinnovabili和电网运营商Terna的初步数据，意大利在2022年上半年共安装了1,061MW太阳能光伏。
相比去年同期的362MW，以及2020年上半年的267MW和2019年1-6月的231MW，安装数量有显著上升。今年大部分容量都是在第二季度安装的，其中628MW连接了意大利电网。
根据最新统计，最新开发的686MW容量中，几乎所有都是规模小于1MW的光伏项目。规模大于1MW的太阳能产业园在总容量中仅占375MW。
规模为20kW及以下的住宅光伏系统仍占最大份额，容量为约426MW。规模为20~100 kW不等的光伏系统在总容量中占76MW。同时，规模为100kW到1MW不等的商用和工业光伏装置在今年上半年达到了184MW。
该国开发量最大的地区是伦巴第地区，新增147MW联网太阳能，拉齐奥中部地区则新增了144MW。今年上半年，西西里和撒丁区分别新增139MW和103MW。
初步数据显示，6月底意大利太阳能容量超过了22.4GW。意大利国家气候与能源综合计划希望在2030年实现50GW太阳能容量。
