Empower New Energy将整个非洲的太阳能项目捆绑在一起，以降低风险，然后再向下销售。该开发商为受益于较低电价的企业客户安装并维护太阳能和电池。
此次Empower股权投资由气候基金管理公司（CFM）牵头。这是一家由荷兰开发银行FMO（Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden）和南非Sanlam集团旗下公司Sanlam Infraworks成立的合资企业。
自2019年第一轮融资790万美元以来，Empower New Energy已在埃及、加纳和尼日利亚的八个项目中为非洲工商业客户安装了5.5 MW的太阳能发电量。第一批投资商包括欧盟能源接入机构Edfi Electrifi、挪威发展投资基金（Norfund）及其他十多家私人投资商。据报道，该公司还与埃及、摩洛哥、加纳和尼日利亚签订了一系列价值3000万美元的150 MW开发项目。
Empower New Energy的投资平台是在挪威发展合作署和非洲可持续能源基金的协助下开发而成的。该平台由非洲开发银行管理，并获得了丹麦、意大利、美国和英国政府的资助。
