希腊科佩鲁佐斯集团计划修建一条长1373公里的高压直流（HVDC）海底输电线路。这条线路将连接埃及与希腊阿提卡地区。
该集团表示，其代表近期会同埃及总统阿卜杜勒·法塔赫·塞西（Abdel Fattah El-Sisi）、总理穆斯塔法·马德布利（Moustafa Madbouly）以及电力和可再生能源部长穆罕默德·沙克尔（Mohamed Shaker）一起审查了Gregy Elica互联项目的进展情况。
2021年10月，欧洲输电运营商联盟（Entso-E）将该项目纳入其欧洲电网十年发展计划（TYNDP 2022）。
科佩鲁佐斯集团当时表示：“在欧洲电网互联背景下，将它纳入TYNDP 2022是第一个必要步骤，随后我们会启动将这个雄心勃勃的项目列入欧盟第六份共同利益项目（PCI）清单的进程。”
这条700 MW的电缆有助于将埃及9.5 GW的风能和太阳能传输至希腊-意大利和希腊-保加利亚输电网络。它将部署在最大水深2527米处。
Entso-E在其网站上公布：“该项目预计将允许埃及在可再生能源发电高峰时向希腊出口可再生能源电力，反之亦然，这将有助于大幅提高可再生能源在能源结构中的参与度，并减少电力行业的温室气体排放。这个项目非常复杂，因为除了电缆铺设距离远之外，其中还涉及多项传输系统技术，包括交流和直流线路、架空、地下和海底传输线路等。
据Entso-E透露，该项目预计将在2028年投产。
