丹麦项目开发商European Energy着手在瑞典南部赫尔辛堡城外的Svedberga建造一个128.5 MW的太阳能发电园区。一旦建成，这个发电厂将成为瑞典最大的太阳能设施，每年发电量为175 GWh。园区预计将于2023年完工，并从2024年开始发电。

Svedberga太阳能发电园区总面积为232.5公顷，其中约三分之一用于太阳能发电。European Energy公司表示，剩余的土地可以用于农业种植。该同公司还计划在园区外围种植树木和灌木来加强生物多样性。
根据瑞典能源署（Energimyndigheten）发布的数据，截至2021年12月末，瑞典的运行光伏容量达到了1.59 GW，与一年前相比增加了1.09 GW。这些数字表明，2021年是该国太阳能部署最好的一年，新增并网容量约500 MW。
