EDC将开展一项全国性研究以确定到2030年计划安装的太阳能和储能项目。该研究也将确定部署未披露数量的电池储能（BESS）项目的机遇。随着柬埔寨太阳能系统份额的增加，电池储能也将提高电网稳定性。柬埔寨欧洲商会可持续发展与服装 [M1] 专家Massimiliano Tropeano向《光伏》杂志透露道：“对于柬埔寨电力公司（EDC）来说，最重要的是电网稳定性，我认为他们使用电池储能系统（BESS）主要也是出于这一目的。”
该研究首先将确定一个100MW的试点项目。项目将由私营部门建造、融资和运营。亚洲开发银行（ADB）将协助柬埔寨电力公司（EDC）进行招标，预计将调动高达1亿美元的投资。招标日期尚未披露。
