Enel North America宣布已选择俄克拉荷马州作为其新太阳能电池和制造工厂的所在地。该工厂于2022年11月首次公布，并将由其附属公司3Sun USA运营。
主要电池和面板工厂的初始产能预计为3 GW，Enel表示计划将把产能翻倍至6 GW。工厂预计将为该州带来数百万美元投资，创造1500多个就业机会，预计到2024年底投产。
Enel发言人告诉《光伏》杂志说：“我们即将完成对工厂潜在地点的评估，在做出选址决定时考虑因素包括土地可用性、熟练劳动力存量、与交通网络的连接以及税收和激励结构。”
美国对太阳能组件制造商的吸引力越来越大，因为3700亿美元的《降低通货膨胀法》含有大量制造业激励措施，包括对太阳能电池和面板制造减税。
Enel目前在该州拥有30亿美元风力发电资产组合，并在俄克拉荷马城设有办事处。Enel说：“我们非常期待对扩大在该州业务规模的可能性。”
该工厂将加入Qcells 3.3 GW的佐治亚州垂直整合太阳能制造基地，成为迄今为止美国规模最大的太阳能制造消息。
俄克拉荷马州州长Kevin Stitt说：“[俄克拉荷马州]马上将与在本州投资已逾十年的Enel达成本州历史上最大的经济发展交易之一。”
Enel表示正考虑在塔尔萨地区建立新工厂。
