有当开发商采取了所有可能的措施来实施项目，如征地、订购模块和系统平衡供应，但由于其无法控制的原因导致无法按时完成项目时，才会批准延期。
如果开发商尚未采取措施实施项目，而只是坐等奖励，这些项目将不会获得延期，还将面临取消。
早些时候，MNRE宣布，在2021年3月9日之前完成投标的太阳能和风力太阳能混合项目，将获得授权延期至2024年3月31日。
在最新的指示中，MNRE澄清说，这些项目的完工延期“并不是普通的一揽子延期”。
