法国铁路运营商SNCF本周表示，已成立新的清洁能源部门——SNCF Renouvelables。
SNFC拥有每天15000辆次列车以及3000个车站和工业建筑，以9 TWh年用电量成为全法最大的用电户，其中8 TWh用于列车电气化。
SNCF Renouvelables计划在其1000公顷土地上开发1 GW光伏电站，旨在到2030年满足其20%的电力需求。SNCF是全法仅次于国家的第二大土地所有者，土地所有权总计约10万公顷，该初始阶段占到其中一小部分。
SNCF总裁Jean-Pierre Farrandou说：“2022年和2023年的电力消耗成本增加了一倍多，意味着仅这两年用于火车牵引的电费就超过7亿欧元（7.646亿美元）。”
SNCF已通过其子公司SNCF Gares et Connexions，在车站屋顶或阴凉处用太阳能板生产自用电力。
自2018年以来，SNCF Energie部门也一直在试行“企业PPA”计划，已签署数份PPA，包括与法国能源巨头EDF，与瑞士Axpo，以及与法国独立电力生产商Reden各签一份PPA。
