由于2022年太阳能发电部署总量的下降，2023年的太阳能增长率预计将不如前几年强劲。2022年部署的太阳能总发电量相较2021年下降了16%，为20.2 GW。根据太阳能工业协会（SEIA）和伍德•麦肯兹可再生能源与电力公司的数据，随着2022年部署量的下降，到年底，美国的太阳能总装机容量将上升至141 GW，增幅略高于16.9%。
