EWEC向开发商和财团发出了一份征求建议书（RfP），这些开发商和财团表示有兴趣在阿拉伯联合酋长国阿布扎比的Al Khazna地区开发一个1.5 GW的太阳能项目。
此次招标仅面向在2023年9月表达意向且通过资格审查的投标人开放。EWEC表示，已有27家公司和财团提交了意向书，其中19家有资格进入RfP阶段，该阶段为潜在投标人提供了项目的详细要求和拟议的技术参数。
Kazhna光伏项目将涉及工厂及相关基础设施的开发、融资、建设、运营、维护和所有权。被选中的开发商或财团将最高拥有该设施40%的股份，阿布扎比政府将间接持有其余股权。
他们还将与EWEC签订长期购电协议（PPA）。购电协议将以能源购买协议的形式构建，EWEC将只支付电厂提供的净电能。
一旦全面投入运营，Khazna项目以及Noor Abu Dhabi项目、Al Dhafra光伏项目和Al Ajban太阳能装置将使EWEC的光伏总装机容量达到5.5 GW。预计仅Khazna项目就可以为阿联酋大约16万户家庭提供足够的电力。
EWEC首席执行官Othman Al Ali表示：“作为我们的第四个公用事业规模的太阳能项目，Khazna太阳能光伏项目是我们计划在2027-2037年间开发新太阳能光伏产能的重要里程碑，将引领阿联酋向可持续未来过渡，与2050年国家净零战略倡议保持一致。”
对RfP的回应预计将在今年第三季度进行。EWEC表示，随后将举行公开活动，对提交提案的公司和财团进行确认。
