葡萄牙的MCA公司与总部位于美国的Sun Africa公司联合在安哥拉东部建造了Luena光伏公园。这个耗资3700万欧元（3990万美元）的项目配备了约4.4万块太阳能电池板，将为近6万人供电。
该太阳能公园是MCA公司为安哥拉政府建造的7个此类设施中的第4个。这7个项目预计将在今年年底前全部投入运营，总容量为370 MW。第一个太阳能项目已于2022年8月完工。
这些装置是安哥拉2025年能源计划的一部分，该计划旨在使该国的能源结构多样化，以确保约77%的农村人口用上电。
根据国际可再生能源署（IRENA）的统计数据，截至去年年底，安哥拉部署的太阳能发电量为310 MW，高于2022年的285 MW。
