比利时能源公司Perpetum Energy在位于比利时埃诺省Brugelette的私人动物园和植物园Pairi Daiza建造了一座40 MW的太阳能车棚。
公司总经理Grégoire Dewandeleer 告诉《光伏》杂志：“我们在Pairi Daiza停车场建造的太阳能发电站是世界上最大的木制光伏车棚。
他补充说，Pairi Daiza愿意与合作伙伴Préfabois公司合作使用100%天然和可再生材料，以最大限度地减少原材料损耗，降低灰色能源消耗。
车棚由经久耐用的4级道格拉斯杉木制成，所用原木和原木横梁来自阿登地区。材料均通过PEFC标准认证，确保可持续森林管理。

该项目耗资4000万欧元，占地面积达20万平方米，部分厂房采用了51台逆变器和93786块太阳能电池板，其中一部分来自中国制造商隆基（265 Wp），另一部分来自Canadian Solar。
Dewandeleer说：“为确保光伏荫棚二期工程顺利运行并满足公园的大量用电需求，我们必须对壮观的顶棚进行改造。我们加固了线路，将现有电流互感器（CT）更换为功率更大的型号，并调整了数十个断路器单元。这项挑战在三天内就完成了！”
该项目由第三方投资公司Green4Power SA基金出资，Perpetum和Socofe公司作为项目业主，Pairi Daiza因此成为重要的绿色能源供应商。动物园会自用部分光伏电力并将剩余电力输出至电网，但预计剩余电力将随着在荫棚下安装电动汽车充电站而逐渐减少。
