位于德国图林根的太阳能与储能服务公司Suncycle的一个蓄电池箱再次起火。8月11日星期天的这场火灾是两个月来该地点第三次因为锂电池起火呼叫火警。警方怀疑是技术缺陷导致了起火。
参与救火的消防队在Facebook上表示，燃烧产生的烟气造成一名员工轻微受伤。来自德国新闻社dpa的一份报道显示，受伤员工使用叉车将燃烧的储能组件运出蓄电池箱所在区域，防止了火焰扩散。据消防部门所述，火灾造成的损失预计为3万欧元。
由于起火产生大量烟雾，居民收到警报保持门窗关闭直到星期一。
这是6月7日以来Suncycle电池储能组件第三次起火。第一次火灾的损失预计为7万欧元左右，居民也收到了类似的有毒气体警报。
第二次起火是在6月30日的一个蓄电池箱起火。消防部门表示，电池最终以可控制的方式燃尽。首次灭火过程中，水和燃烧的储能组件产生了有毒的氢氟酸。消防部门因此不得不使用大量成本处理消防用水，并决定以可控制的方式让火熄灭。第二次起火所导致的损失没有披露，第三次起火的详细情况会在适当时候披露。
截止报道发出时，《光伏》杂志向Suncycle提出的关于本次和之前事故的问题没有得到答复。
