孟加拉国政府针对可再生能源发电厂（包括太阳能电池板）推出了一项十年免税计划，该计划将于2025年7月1日起生效。
孟加拉国家税务总局（NBR）发布了一则通知，允许可再生能源项目在前五年免税100%，接下来的三年免税50%，再接下来的两年免税25%。
新税收减免政策将适用于2025年7月1日至2030年6月30日期间开始商业运营的发电厂。
“根据孟加拉国私营部门发电政策，以‘建设-拥有-运营’（BOO）方式建设的发电厂可享受免税优惠政策，”孟加拉国家税务总局局长Abdur Rahman Khan在通知中表示，“这些发电厂必须满足发电政策的所有条件，且必须根据政策指导方针运营。”
2023年6月，上届政府取消了针对可再生能源行业的全部免税政策，这引起了投资者的担忧。此后，国内外投资者多次要求恢复免税政策。
孟加拉国太阳能和可再生能源协会（BSREA）执行成员M A Taher告诉 《光伏》杂志，新税收计划将为公用事业规模的发电厂带来巨大利益，并吸引新投资。
他说：“免税政策将助力独立电力生产商降低生产成本，从而降低电价。”
然而，Taher敦促政府对屋顶、灌溉泵和浮动太阳能等细分行业给予免税待遇，因为目前此类项目的税收负担较高。
孟加拉国的清洁能源发电总容量为1.38GW，其中太阳能发电容量为1.08GW。
