自2024年11月起，爱尔兰“学校太阳能”计划二期（也是最后一期）已向全国所有符合条件的学校开放申请。
爱尔兰政府表示，截至目前，该计划受到了极大关注，迄今已有共757所学校获得了这一阶段的资助。
“学校太阳能”计划最初于2023年11月推出，自那时以来已有超过3,290所学校获准参与太阳能电池板安装投标。政府表示，到目前为止，已经完成超过1,000次安装。
该计划二期的申请截止日期已延长至3月7日（星期五）。
根据该计划，学校将获得6kW的屋顶太阳能系统。
“该项目为学校提供了一个减少碳排放和降低能源成本的机会，同时也为学校和学生提供了日常消费数据，”爱尔兰教育部长Helen McEntee表示，“全国各地的社区已经开始在学校屋顶上安装太阳能电池板，这是学校太阳能计划得到大力推广的一个标志。”
她表示，她将“强烈鼓励”所有学校在延期截止日期之前报名申请。
申请者可以使用教育部的在线工具“学校中心”申请参与该计划。
“学校太阳能”计划由爱尔兰气候行动基金全额资助。该计划一期是在爱尔兰选定郡县的学校进行试点。在计划二期开放申请前不久，政府宣布将在全国范围内推广该计划。
