加纳能源和绿色转型部正在着手设立一个可再生能源投资和绿色转型基金。
据国家通讯社报道，该基金将支持可再生能源投资和绿色技术的本地化部署，同时减轻国有机构的电费负担。
在加纳首都阿克拉举行的可持续能源政策对话上，能源部长John Abdulai Jinapor表示，该部提出了成立可再生能源机构的法案，目前正在进行技术审查并将“很快”提交内阁。该机构将负责基金监管。
Jinapor表示，政府计划将化石燃料收入投资发展可再生能源，包括住宅太阳能装置和太阳能路灯。
他补充说：“我们将积极推广使用充电车，将太阳能用于灌溉设施，为医院、公立学校（包括大学）和中小型企业提供太阳能系统，并支持能效教育。”
Jinapor解释道，加纳希望对可再生能源项目实施竞争性采购，帮助降低电力成本。他表示：“我们已经在与世界银行合作，并相信通过可再生能源及其他能源的竞争性采购方式，我们可以大幅降低发电成本。”
国际可再生能源署（IRENA）的数据显示，到2023年底加纳累计部署了169 MW太阳能。
