EGAT已经启动了在泰国开发一个水电和浮动式子太阳能混合项目的招标。
该项目将在泰国西部萨姆恩高地区的Bhumibol大坝进行开发。EGAT的网站称，该大坝是东南亚最大、最高的拱坝，目前拥有一座779 MW的水电站。
此次招标要求建设一座205 MW的晶体硅太阳能发电厂，同时还包括浮动式光伏系统、锚定和系泊系统、33 kV电力系统、输电线路、控制和监控系统以及相关软件。 招标细节表明，选定的开发商将负责设计、采购、制造、交付、保险、项目管理、施工、安装、测试、调试和现场培训。
有兴趣的申请人必须从EGAT购买招标文件，费用为1,000美元或30,000泰铢（885美元），该费用不可退还。
该项目将由EGAT基金提供融资，申请截止日期为2025年7月14日。 2024年7月，EGAT启动了一个水电和浮动式太阳能混合项目的招标，其中包括182 MW的太阳能容量。另一个拥有24 MW浮动太阳能阵列的水电混合项目已于2024年3月开始商业运营。
EGAT的混合太阳能水电开发与泰国的电力发展计划保持一致，该计划的目标是在9座EGAT大坝上建立16个浮动式太阳能项目，总容量超过2.7 GW。
